"Is Love Really Unfailing? Exploring the Myth and Reality of Love Never Failing"

Updated: Apr 9, 2024

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails... (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)

Our objective for reading today is: Be all that love is. Examine the times where you think love might fail in order to expose that myth. You will discover areas in your mind where you need to infiltrate to transcend love in your life. So put on your imaginative cap and contemplate about what each attribute of love is . As an English teacher, I like to tell my students when they have writers block to take the topic and answer the "Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How" of that subject matter. So as we study, if you happen to run into a roadblock in your imagination, ask yourself the 5 W'S and one H.

READY!?! I am excited about this one. Draw the chart below in your notebook.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Bible Study

Tips for completing this chart: I highly encourage you to read at least three different versions of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (i.e. ESV, NIV, MSG). As you study, seek commentary and videos to help you with examples and understanding if you don't have full revelation of a particular part of the scripture and what it means.

Here is an example I made to share with you:
